On this adventurous package, you will go to many fantastic cities and villages in Colombia. Give yourself the chance to explore a lot of our territory and get the best out of every region you’ll go to. You will start with Bogotá, our vibrant capital, where you will spend two amazing nights in and will be immersed in our culture and history, you’ll go to wonderful restaurants, play Tejo (the national sport) like the locals do.
Then leave to go to the extraordinary coffee region. This region is famous for growing and producing the majority of the Colombian coffee which as you might know is the best coffee in the world. During your time here you will go to Salento, a small but enchanting village in Quindío. You will go hike the Cocora Valley where you will see a lot of wax palm trees which is our national tree. You will also go to a coffee plantation in Manizales to have a better understanding how production works and to see a coffee plantation up close.
After a 4-hour ride, you’ll arrive to Medellín, the city of eternal spring. In Medellín, besides being absolutely beautiful, it’s the most innovative city in the world. It’s a vibrant city in which you will surely have a phenomenal time. You will spend two nights in Medellín where you will learn about Colombia’s history, learn the truth about the famous drug lord Pablo Escobar, you will eat typical food, a slum and graffiti tour to see how this community has been integrated back to the city thanks to art and other activities.
Last but definitely not least, you will go to the magical city of Cartagena. This city has a gorgeous historical center with history in every corner. Medellin is a charming city that will astound you in every single way. You will go to a paradisiacal island, will have typical Colombian coastal food, will walk through the historical city center and discover the gem of the Caribbean.
Day 1 (D)
Get picked up from the airport, right to your hotel. Enjoy dinner at a restaurant with a breathtaking view from the top of the hills of Bogotá. Spend your first night at your hotel in one of the hippest areas in town.
Day 2 (B,L)
Be ready to explore historical downtown by foot before having a typical "Bogotano" lunch at a very well-known restaurant. Dive into the real Colombian culture and play a game called Tejo, considered by Anthony Bourdain as "one of the top experiences in Colombia". As soon as you finish return to your hotel for a good night sleep.
Day 3 (B)
Take a flight to Pereira, situated in Colombia´s coffee region. From the airport, we will take to Salento, a beautiful small village, where you will spend the night at a charming hotel in the right in the heart of this picturesque village.
Day 4 (B,L,D)
Just a little outside of Salento, go hiking to discover the beautiful Cocora Valley, the birthplace of the wax palm trees which is our national tree. You will also have a great lunch at the Valley. In the evening, go back to your wonderful hotel that is surrounded by nature and enjoy a delicious dinner in a peaceful atmosphere. You will spend the night at an old coffee hacienda that was turned into a boutique hotel that has a private natural reserve.
Day 5 (B,L)
After a delicious breakfast, you will take a car ride two hours North to Manizales. Here you will be to visiting a coffee plantation that has been working in that business for more than 100 years. As soon as you finish the tour through the plantation enjoy an exquisite typical lunch. Then, continue enjoying the scenic "coffee highway" until you reach Medellín as the final destination of the day. Check-in at your hotel which is in a very lively neighborhood of the city.
Day 6 (B,L)
On this day you will explore the city on a private tour. Then have the pleasure of having a typical lunch at Cafe Botero. After lunch, get ready to hear from our expert guide the truth about Pablo Escobar, the cartels, the conflict and the evolution of modern days in Colombia. At the end of this tour return to your hotel and spend the rest of your evening at leisure and have the chance to get to know the vibrant life around your hotel.
Day 7 (B)
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you’ll be taken to the slums for a graffiti tour and learn how art and many other activities have helped the people that live in the slums be more integrated to the city. Spend some free time and keep exploring the most innovative city on your own for the rest of the day.
Day 8 (B,L)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel; then you will be picked up for your flight to Cartagena, a magical city on the Colombian Caribbean coast. As soon as you arrive go and check-in a renowned hotel. Then go to the marvelous historical center and have a typical lunch in a Caribbean restaurant called La Mulata. After lunch, go on a private walking tour through the historic city center where you will find narrow streets and colorful colonial houses. When your tour is finished we will go back to your hotel for a good night sleep.
Day 9 (B,L)
Paradise awaits! Today you will have a private boat for exploring the Rosario Islands Archipelago. This national park consists of 27 small islands surrounded by coral reefs which are world famous thanks to their white sand beaches and turquoise waters. On the boat, you will have the chance of making different stops to lay on the beach or to do some snorkeling. Around mid-day, you will stop by Hotel Gente del Mar and have sensational lunch. Go back to Cartagena and have a great night sleep.
