You will start with Bogotá, our vibrant capital, where you will spend two amazing nights in and will be immersed in our culture and history, you’ll go to wonderful restaurants, play Tejo (the national sport) like the locals do.
Then leave to go to the extraordinary coffee region. This region is famous for growing and producing the majority of the Colombian coffee which as you might know is the best coffee in the world. You will arrive in Armenia, where you will stay in an unbelievable hacienda. During your stay here you will learn about Colombia’s biodiversity and the extremely beautiful coffee region’s landscape.
Then fly to Medellín, the city of eternal spring. In Medellín, besides being absolutely beautiful, it’s the most innovative city in the world. It’s a vibrant city in which you will surely have a phenomenal time. You will spend two nights in Medellín where you will learn about Colombia’s history, go to hip and trendy areas, you will go to a slum to see how this community has been integrated back to the city thanks to art and other activities.
Last but definitely not least, you will go to the magical city of Cartagena. This city has a gorgeous historical center with history in every corner. Cartagena is a charming city that will astound you in every single way. You will go to a paradisiacal island, will have typical Colombian coastal food, will walk through the historical city center and discover the gem of the Caribbean.
Day 1 (D)
Meet your guide at the airport, check in at the most luxurious hotel in Bogotá and enjoy a 3 course dinner while contemplating Bogotá from above at Monserrate mountain.
Day 2 (B,L,D)
Time to explore the capital! Start with a tour guided by an anthropologist expert at gold museum. Absorb the local vibes walking down "la septima" and enjoy a delicious lunch at a vintage restaurant. Then walk around the main square and unveil the secrets of la Candelaria. At night, you will have a unique gastronomic experience at a private venue with a charismatic and entertaining chef and great food!
Day 3 (B,L,D)
Fly to Armenia which is the closest airport to the beautiful Hacienda Bambusa: a natural paradise located in the heart of Colombian coffee region. This boutique hotel is located at a rural area where nature is wild and beautiful. After lunch, you will have the afternoon to relax and enjoy the lush green surroundings. At night, the hotel staff will set up an outdoor dinner with live music.
Day 4 (B,L,D)
Today you will be guided by a biologist who will give you a complete introduction to Colombia's biodiversity in a fun and interactive way. The first stop is Quindío's botanical garden. A 15-hectare reserve with amazing plant species, a butterfly house that hosts more than 50 species and an amazing lookout over the mountains. That night you will sleep at Bambusa again.
Day 5 (B)
A small plane will take us from Armenia to Medellin. The city of innovation. Upon arrival, you will have time to rest and choose a good spot for lunch among the restaurants of the hip area of El Poblado. In the afternoon, you will visit the city center and have a guided walking tour where you will see Plaza Botero (open air sculpture museum), Parque Berrio, Parque de las Luces and other points of architectonic and cultural interest.
Day 6 (B,L,D)
There is no better place to understand the process that Colombia has been going through for the last decades than Medellin. On this tour, an English speaking sociologist will take you to key parts of the city and will put you in the context of the recent Colombian history. You will visit the Memorial Museum and after that, you will head to la comuna 13 which is a slum that has been gradually transforming and is now a symbol of Colombia's positive change. After that, you will have lunch at the botanical garden and make a brief visit to the Orquideorama.
Day 7 (B,D)
Trade the mountain framed city for our Caribbean jewel. Upon flying to Cartagena in the morning, you will meet a guide expert in history that will give you a comprehensive and fun walking tour in the old part of the colonial city. After recovering some energies, you will enjoy a dinner event right on the sea front at one of the most prestigious places of the city.
Day 8 (B,L)
Get ready for an escape to paradise! Today you will have a private boat for exploring the Rosario Islands Archipelago. This national park consists of 27 protected islands that have gained world fame for their white sand beaches and turquoise waters. On the boat, you will have the chance of making different stops to lay on the beach or to do some snorkeling. Around mid-day, we will stop by San Pedro de Majagua and have an amazing lunch.
